How to install a bird net

Installing a bird net is a great way to keep birds away from certain areas such as fruit trees, vegetable gardens, or balconies. Here are some steps to follow to install a bird net:

  1. Measure the area you want to cover with the bird netting. Add a few extra feet to the measurements to ensure complete coverage.

  2. Purchase bird netting material that is durable, lightweight, and UV resistant. Choose the appropriate mesh size depending on the type of birds you want to keep away.

  3. Install support structures around the area to be covered. This can be a frame made of PVC pipes or wooden stakes driven into the ground.

  4. Attach the netting material to the support structures using cable ties or clips. Ensure that the netting is taut and there are no gaps for the birds to enter.

  5. Cut any excess netting material and secure the edges to the ground using landscape staples or rocks.

  6. If the netting is not high enough to deter birds from entering, install scare devices such as reflective tape or plastic owls.

  7. Inspect the bird netting periodically and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.

Remember to remove the netting after the bird nesting season is over to avoid trapping any birds or wildlife in the netting.
